With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Doris Jackson of Landrum, South Carolina, born in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, who passed away on April 27, 2024 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Reverend Lawrence Jackson; her parents, Lawrence Vester Martin and Lizzie Modine Wesson; her former husband Carl Scruggs; her daughter Carleen Scruggs; and her brother James Martin.
She is survived by: her children, Rose Brown, Martha Mahaffey (Vance), John Jackson (Susan) and Daniel Jackson (Kay); her grandchildren, Jim, Zackary, Nikolas, Elisabeth, Sarah, Lela, John Robert, Eva, Lee and Kolbyn; and her sisters, Hester Haynes, Marie Jones and Ruby Dethmann. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Landrum Building Fund in her honor.
