He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Whitley and Pearl Mullis Whitley; and his wife Nancy F. Whitley. He is survived by: his son William Michael "Mike" Whitley (Jennifer); his brothers-in-law, Jim Fowler (Diane) and John Fowler (Rita); and his stepgranddaughters, Meghan Buksas (Eddie) and Katherine Clark (Kinohi).
