He was predeceased by: his father Walter Byrd, Sr.; and his siblings, William Byrd, Mickey Byrd, Bobby Byrd, Cephie Byrd, Fred Byrd, Pauline Shealy, Dot Davis, Helen Knight and Mattie Lee Byrd.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Adams Byrd; his son Art Byrd (Kay) of Lancaster; and his grandchildren, Evan Byrd (Stephanie) and Erin Byrd (Dustin Eddins).
