He is survived by: his wife Joan Elizabeth Starnes Barrett of Lancaster; his sons, Jerry Michael Barrett, John Stuart (Elizabeth) of Elgin, SC, Mark Duncan of Alabama and Brandon Duncan of Alabama; his siblings, Darlene Craig (Luke) of Lancaster, Deb White of Lancaster, George Barrett of Lancaster and Terry Barrett of Lancaster; his grandchildren, Natalie Duncan, Reagan Duncan, Tristan Duncan and Tyler Duncan (Kela); and his great grandchild Karter Duncan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
