He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Franklin Pettit, Jr. and Eleanor Pettit-Brouwer. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Pettit; his daughter Paige Pettit (Chance Jordan) of Lancaster; his siblings, Adrian Pettit (Denise) of Lancaster, Bryan Pettit (Lisa) of Lancaster and Pam Vaughn (Randy) of Lancaster; and his stepfather Don Brouwer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
