She was predeceased by: her mother Annie Adams Gaskin; her husband Robert Melvin Whitaker; her father Robert Williams Lyles; and her sister Jenell Lyles. She is survived by: her children, Teresa Brower (Gary) of Lancaster and Robert Melvin Whitaker II (Nancy) of Lancaster; her brothers, James Lyles (Cynthia) of Lancaster, Bobby Lyles (Brenda) of Lancaster and Donnie Gaskin (Sandra) of Lancaster; her grandchildren, Leah, Danny, Jonathon (Elizabeth), Devin (Amber) and David (Tenesha); and her great grandchildren, Laylah, Nigel, Archie, Advin, Cullen, Turner and Baby Boy Adams.
