It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy Edwin Rutland of Lancaster, South Carolina, born in Greenville, South Carolina, who passed away on February 5, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Harvey Rutland Jr. and Betty LulaBelle Stringfield Rutland. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Rutland of Lancaster; his children, Michael Rutland (Kathy) of Greenwood, SC, Timmy Rutland (Cindy) of Fort Lawn, SC, Matt Rutland (Sarah) of Oberlin, OH and Mandy Boulware (Billy) of Catawba, SC; his siblings, JB Rutland of Belton, SC, David Rutland of Easley, SC, Dan Rutland of Greenville, SC and Jeanette Anglin of West Minister, SC; his grandchildren, Kristi Butler, Allison Simmons, Paige Coyle, Casey Rutland, TJ Rutland, Brody Hinson CJ Grant, Shelby Grant, Eli Rutland, Evie Rutland, Josiah Rutland and Ruth Rutland; and his pet Cooper. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
