She was predeceased by: her parents, Jackson Wylie Sikes and Ruth Burns Sikes; and her son Wylie Penegar, Sr.. She is survived by: her husband Howard Penegar, Jr.; her daughter Melody Penegar; her grandchildren, Christina Penegar-Tucker (Mick Tucker) and Brooke Penegar (Jonathan Monsalvo); her great grandchildren, Jaxson, Asher, Arabella Tucker and Isaiah Wylie Monsalvo; her siblings, Vernon Ross "Rusty" Sikes and Patsy Ruth Copeland; her nephews, Todd Copeland, Jack Copeland and Stephen Sikes; and her grandson Wylie Penegar, Jr..
Visitation was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home (1800 Charlotte Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29720). A celebration of life was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at the Lancaster Memorial Park (1389 Memorial Park Rd, Lancaster, SC 29720).
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00pm, one hour before the service, and suggest memorial contributions be made to Canaan Land Missions, PO Box 1958, Lancaster, SC 29721.
