Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Katherine Monroe (Lancaster, South Carolina), who passed away at the age of 87, on July 2, 2019. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wylie Jesse Brazell and Alice White Brazell; her husband Bobby Green Monroe; and her siblings, Tommy Brazell, Wylie Jesse Brazell, Jr., Bernice Vaughn and Faye Vaughn.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Sue Hayes (Jerry) of Lexington, Kathie Anne Carnes (Darrell), Janet Lynn Gainey (Rick) of Lancaster, Bobby Dennis Monroe of Hopkinsville, KY and Butch Monroe of Lancaster; her siblings, Clyde Brazell (Emily) of Lancaster and Mary Ann Baker of Lancaster; and her grandchildren, Allison Hayes, April Starbuck, Judd Tripp, Darrell Marshal Carnes, Jr., Bobby Monroe, Blake Monroe, Jeffrey Monroe, Thomas Monroe and Jesse Greene Monroe. She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday evening, July 5, 2019 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 140 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 210, Columbia, SC 29210.
