He is survived by: his wife Dominga Contreras; his children, Jose Contreras (Dulce), Julian Contreras, Jr., Efrain Contreras, Ivan Contreras, Maribel Contreras and Karina Contreras; and his siblings, Cirilo Contreras, Ganzalo Contreras, Luisa Contreras and Eladia Contreras. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren.
