He was predeceased by: his parents, Colie Hughes and Mildred Bradley Hughes (Rachel Jones Hughes); his son Donald Small; and his brothers, Albert Hughes and Jerry Hughes.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel Jones Hughes; his son Brian Small (Scarlett) of Lancaster; and his siblings, Richard Hughes (Barbara) of McConnells, Pat Coates (Emerson) of Kershaw, Ann Cloud of Chester, Colleen Littlejohn (Dean) of Chester and Dell Connor (Brian) of Chester. He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
