He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Newell and Sara Lee Hall Newell; his wife Ollie Faile Miller Newell; his sons, Tony Newell and Mickey Newell; and his stepson Harold Miller.
He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Margie Kennington of Lancaster and Judy Hunter Simpson of Lancaster. He is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
