He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ishman Starnes, Sr. and Margaret Rollings Starnes; his son Eddie Starnes; and his siblings-in-law, Ernestine "Tennie" Starnes, Chris Starnes, Billy Craig and Will Langley.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Starnes; his son Glenn Starnes (Betty); his grandson Randy Jenkins (Nicole); his son Phillip Starnes (Kim); his granddaughter Kayla Hahn (Klayton); his great grandchild Madelyn Hahn; his grandchild Katlyn Starnes; and his siblings, Brice Starnes (Rose), Ernest Starnes, Ray Starnes (Becky), Donald Starnes (Kay), Jackie Starnes (Kathy), Ricky Starnes, Wayne Starnes (Yong), Maggie Bell Craig, Betty Anne Langley, Peggy Flowers (Mike) and Linda McManus (Dennis).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Fork Hill Baptist Church (1125 Fork Hill Rd, Heath Springs, SC 29058). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at the Fork Hill Baptist Church Cemetery (1125 Fork Hill Rd, Heath Springs, SC 29058).
