He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Perry Small and Nannie Cornelia Hinson Small; and his sisters, Mary Ellen Webster and Carolyn Miles. He is survived by: his wife Eva Small; his children, Horace Milburn Small (Virginia) and Cheryl "Chere" Hayes (Jimmy "David"); his grandchildren, Maegan Twitty (Josh), James "Jamie" Hayes (Courtney Snipes), Bethany Hayes and Tara Hayes; his great grandchildren, James Dixon, William Colt Twitty and Mattie Grace Twitty; his sister Clara Ford "Snooks"; and his aunt Lois Small. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
