He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilmore Small and Nellie Railey Small; and his sister Alice Sanders. He is survived by: his children, Chris Small (Lauren) and Carmon Bailey; his grandchildren, Austin Bailey, Logan Wilkins, Shepherd Small, Mary Adeline Small and Beatrice Small; his sisters, Kathy Nichols, Peggy Cooper (Boyd), Joyce Garris (Ralph), Judy Ellenberg and Ann Outen; and also, Amelia, Billy Catoe and Gary.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to Springhill Baptist Church, 2245 Old Camden Monroe Hwy Lancaster, SC 29720.
