He is survived by: his parent Bennie Mae Dye Elder; his children, Marilyn Jackson of Lancaster, SC, Dwight Jr. of Lancaster, SC, Nicholas of Lancaster, SC and Takendrick Sherrill of Lancaster, SC; and his siblings, Willie Jean Cannon of Augusta, GA, Gwendolyn Elder of Lancaster, Marilyn Cole of Richmond, VA, Bridgit Morris of Richmond, VA, Douglas Elder (Anthony Elder) of Lancaster, SC and Lamont Elder of Lancaster, SC. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
