He was predeceased by: his parents, Chalmus Cauthen and Mamie Rollins Cauthen; his son Rodney David Cauthen, Sr.; his siblings, Alvin Cauthen, Ray Cauthen, Prince Cauthen, William Cauthen, Joe Cauthen, Mildred Hudson, Minnie Snipes and Tilley Craig; and his grandchildren, Edward Mosley, Rodney Cauthen, Jr. and Lisa Hanna.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Rubio of Lancaster, Terry Whitley of Lancaster, Danna Cauthen of Columbia and Monique Avery (Ken) of Utah; his grandchildren, Jamie, Amanda, Nick, Alex, Melissa, Amber, Travis, Aaron, Adam and Robbie; and his former wife Patsy Cauthen. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
