He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Steele and Geneva Snipes Steele; his son Melvin Steele; and his siblings, Frank Steele, Marty Steele, Joe Steele, Jim Steele, Chalmers Steele, Roy Steele, Jeffy Steele, Dudley Steele, Reece Steele, Sykes Steele, Herman Steele, June Hair, Sara Knight, Mary Carnes, Viola Hallman and Retta Mae Hardis.
He is survived by: his wife Grace McManus Steele; his children, Marvin Steele of Salisbury, NC, Karen Burbach of Rock Hill, SC, Cyndi McDonald (Jimmy) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Ginger Meeks (Ron) of Myrtle Beach, SC; his grandchildren, Wesley Barrett, Tyler Steele, Jennifer Bodge, Jessica Delco, Jamie McDonald, William Meeks, Anna Lauren Meeks, Kevin Meeks, Catherine Paske and Chris Robinson; his sister Judy Humphries of Lancaster, SC; and his daughter-in-law Rita Steele. He is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
