She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Bon Long and Eula Mae Robertson Long; her husband James William McAteer; and her sister Mary Ann Long. She is survived by: her children, James Scott McAteer, Cynthia "Cindy" Cecilia McAteer and Rhonda McAteer McCain; her grandchildren, Lowell Bentley Whitson, Erikson Nowell Whitson, Lauren Elizabeth McCain and Katelin McCain Elgan (Ben); her siblings-in-law, Ernestine McAteer King (Bruce), Sara McAteer Threatt (Jimmy), Martha Jean McAteer Cowles (Phil) and Ned McAteer (Anna); and her caregivers, Leroy Faile and Virginia Whitaker.
