It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Cathy Thomas (Lancaster, South Carolina), born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, who passed away on May 14, 2024, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick M. Holzer Jr. and Elinor Jean Holzer (Kraus); and her husband Gordon Butler Thomas. She is survived by: her children, Ella, Max of Indian Land, SC and Emily "Emmy" Creek (Jason); her grandchildren, Sheldon, Hadley, Cooper and Knox of Newville, PA; her siblings, Richard "Fritz" Holzer (Kim), Cynthia Briggs (Lance), Christine Cook (Dave) and Carolyn Benedict (Greg); and her pet Tess. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family plans to create an endowment for nurses in her honor, though this will take time to set up. For those who wish to contribute immediately, donations can be made to Paws in the Panhandle Rescue & Adoption.
