He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde H. Hayes and Louise Doggett Hayes; his significant other Nancy Vivian Watts Hayes; and his siblings, Norma H. Blackmon, Bill Hayes, Roy Hayes and Rev. Gary Hayes.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy H. McAteer (Alan) and Kevin B. Hayes; his grandson Stewart A. McAteer (Jody); his great grandchildren, Luke, Chloe and Claire; and his siblings, Barbara H. Knight, Sandra H. Jenkins and Richard "Rick" Hayes.
