He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Gray and Gertrude Howard Gray; and his siblings, Milton Gray, Donald Gray and Rita Ortman.

He is survived by: his wife Shelby Jean Perry Gray of Lamar; and his children, Goldie Spendolini (John), Donna Pilar (David), Rose Lewis (Daniel), Shelby Montgomery (Richard) and Dale Gray (KC). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and his feline friend.
