It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter James Short (Lake Wylie, South Carolina), born in Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on May 23, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Bennie Wilbur; his wife Rosa Lee Brandon Short; and his son Bennie Wayne Short. He is survived by: his children, Sandra Lee Neeley of York, SC, Walter Wayne Short (Yvonne) of Gerton, NC, Donald Buford Nalley (Pam) of Morganton, NC and Larry Thomas Carpenter, Jr. of York, SC; and his sister Carolyn Brown. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
