He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor Turnbull Mayo and Peter Brierly Mayo; his wife Judy Bolt Mayo; his brothers, Peter Mayo and John Mayo; and his son-in-law Jeffrey Allen Pompeo-Mayo.
He is survived by: his significant other Page Munroe Renger of Charlotte, NC; his children, Scott David Mayo (Kelly) of Powhatan, VA, Jennifer Lynn Mayo of Wilmington, DE and Tricia Mayo Moore (Ed) of Alexandria, VA; and his grandchildren, Pierce Charles Mayo, Griffin Bolt Mayo, Jody Lee Mayo, Jilly Taylor Mayo, Ella Madison Moore and Tess Margaret Moore.
