He was predeceased by: his wife Jennifer Hayden Filyaw; his parents, William Matthew Filyaw and Ruby Conyers Filyaw; his daughter Debra Lynette Filyaw; and his siblings, Delos Filyaw, Wilbur Filyaw and Celesta Mims McCutcheon.
He is survived by: his sons, James Brady Filyaw (Cynthia) of New Zion and Christopher "Shawn" Filyaw (Kimberly) of Turbeville; his granddaughter Bailey Lynn Filyaw of Turbeville; and his brothers, John Filyaw of Savannah, GA, Curtis Filyaw (Emmaline) of Lake City and Leverne Feagin.
