He was predeceased by: his parents, James Walker "Jimmy" Godwin and Gloria Truluck Godwin. He is survived by: his children, Ashley Crew (Brandon) of Florence and William Truluck Godwin of Lake City; his grandchildren, Braydon Crew of Florence, Andie Crew of Florence, Charlie Crew of Florence and Porter Truluck Godwin of Hemingway; his brother James Walker Godwin, II (Mary) of Lake City; and his nephews, Walker Godwin (Erica Easler) of Florence and Jonathan Godwin of Lake City.
