He is survived by: his wife Vagella Douglas Smalls; his children, Derrick W. Smalls and Khalid C. Smalls; his granddaughter Alexis J. Smalls; and his siblings-in-law, Mary E. Smalls, Patrician D. Kerns, James H. Douglas, Lester B. Douglas and Charles R. Douglas.
