It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Violet Jean Canady of Ladson, South Carolina, born in Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on August 19, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Hollis Vansant and Ellen Benson Vansant; her husband Lewis; and her sisters, Gayle Melzer and Edna Vansant.

She is survived by: her sons, Roy Kilgore III and Michael Kilgore; her niece Kathy Milam; and her grandchildren, Stephan Kilgore, Ashley Kilgore and Lauren Austin (Taylor). She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
