He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Cohen Bennett and Ruby Elease Coker Bennett; his wife Arlee W. Bennett; his daughter Judy W. Coleman; his grandson Walter W. Coleman; and his siblings, J. C. Bennett, Fahrnease Stokes and Rebecca Othell Kiker.

He is survived by: his daughter Terri Michi; his son-in-law Douglas of Summerville, SC; his grandsons, Joshua Michi of Summerville, SC and Nicholas Michi (Lauren); his great grandchild Taylor Michi of Charleston, SC; his sister Eleanor DeLoach (Bill) of Murrells Inlet, SC; and also Vera Nelson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
