She was predeceased by: her brother Lawrence Murphy of Clinton, NC.. She is survived by: her husband George W. Thompson of Ladson, SC; her sister Gloria Dunton of Baltimore, MD; her children, George W. Thompson Jr. of Charleston, SC and Amy Loyd (Rob) of Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandchildren, Haley Loyd, Alyssa Loyd and Karlee Loyd of Myrtle Beach, SC; and her great grandchild Ridley Nolan Black.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the charity of one's choice in her name.
