He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Evelyn Hartzell Mitchell; his wife Whendy Hartzell; his children, Donald L Hartzell, Jr., Cheryl Spearman (Wayne), Dewayne Hartzell (Pam) and Steven Hartzell (Heather); and his stepchildren, Charie Church (David) and Jessie Salladin. He was also cherished by 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 step grandchildren.
