It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Leroy Cooper of Kingstree, South Carolina, who passed away on June 9, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Brown and Blanch Cooper; his son Jacob Cooper; his stepson Danzell Cooper; his stepgreat-grandchild Nautica Cooper; and his siblings, Catherine Barr, Collie Cooper, Jim McFadden and Laura James.
He is survived by: his wife Hildonia Williams Cooper of Kingstree, SC; his children, Harrel Williams (Debra) of Charlotte, NC, Melody Cooper of Kingstree, SC and Emmanuel Cooper of Kingstree, SC; his grandsons, Carlton Bartley of Alamogordo, NM and Xavier Cooper of Kingstree, SC; his stepgrandchildren, Tammy Cooper of Kingstree, SC and Diallo Cooper of Kingstree, SC; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Diallo Cooper, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Selvin Patterson of Loganville, GA and D'Angelo Cooper of Kingstree, SC; his siblings, Bennie Lee Chapman (John) of Miami Dade, FL and Jack Cooper of Texas; and his daughter-in-law Emily Chandler Cooper of Kingstree, SC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
