He was predeceased by: his parents, Susanna Rush-Hemingway and Jessie Hemingway, Sr.; his daughter Naomi Singleton (Arnold); and his siblings, Tom Rush, Ben Rush, Ellis Rush, Robert Rush, Jr., Harry Hemingway, Jack Hemingway, Jessie Hemingway, Joe Hemingway, Minnie Hemingway, Ernestine Nesmith and Ella Mae Nesmith.
He is survived by: his close friend Sharon Ransom; his sister Flora Hemingway-Clay of New Jersey; his sisters-in-law, Lue Hemingway and Beverly Ransom; and his nephew Dannie Palmer. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
