He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Francis Small, Sr. and Laura Easler Small Howell; and his stepfather James Armond Howell. He is survived by: his children, Zachary Ryan Small of San Antonio, Texas and Laura Nicole Small of Virginia; his sister Sherry Small Cannon (Rooster) of North Charleston; his nephews, Rhame B. "Chip" Cannon and Matthew Easler Cannon; and his aunts, Rose Easler and Nell Easler.
