He is survived by: his wife Laura Coward Burgess; his children, Sara Beth Godwin (Dan) of Kingstree and Stephen Burgess (Pam) of Kingstree; his grandchildren, Candace Powell (Benji), Scott Burgess (Peyton Brown), Faith Burgess and Hope Burgess; and his great grandchildren, Rivers and Makenzie Powell.
A reception will be held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Kingstree First Free Will Baptist Church (2348 Sumter Hwy, Kingstree, SC 29556).
