He was predeceased by: his parents, George Barr, Sr. and Flossie Mae Williams-Barr; and his siblings, Lou Esther Barr-McKnight, Charlie and Roosevelt Barr.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia B. Barr; his sons, George Barr III of Kingstree, SC and Raymond DeWayne Barr of Kingstree; his brother Alphonso Barr of Kingstree, SC; his siblings-in-law, Shirlene Giles (Pastor Johnnie) of Fayetteville, NC, Emma Jane Barr of Kingstree, SC and Charles Wayne Brockington (Vernia) of Kingstree, SC; and his aunts, Lou Dell Barr of Kingstree, SC and Willie Mae Burroughs of Nesmith, SC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Henryhand Funeral Home (1951 Thurgood Marshall Hwy, Kingstree, SC 29556). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
