Edmund D. Whetsell Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edmund D. Whetsell (Kingstree, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 15, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Edmund Whetsell and Louise Dantzler Whetsell Shuler; and his siblings, Dr. Wayne Whetsell and Joanne W. Rust. He is survived by: his wife Iris Cheek Whetsell; his sons, Joe Whetsell (Pam), Mark Whetsell (Lee Anne) and John Whetsell (Dawn); his grandchildren, Krysten McInnis (Lance), Eric, Timothy (Miranda), Matthew (Ashlee), Nathan (Madeline), Rylan, Morgan, Elizabeth, Mary, Jesse, Amy, Olivia Whetsell and Megan White; his great grandchildren, Claire McInnis, Thomas, Lucas, Aiden, Scarlet and Waylon Whetsell; and his siblings-in-law, Allen Rust and Sandy Whetsell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Williamsburg Funeral Home (332 E Main St, Kingstree, SC 29556). A burial was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kingstree First Baptist Church, 400 N. Academy Street, Kingstree, SC 29556.
