He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Buchanan and Louise Melton Buchanan; and his brother Eddy Buchanan. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Shealy Buchanan; his son Thad Buchanan; and his brothers, Willie Buchanan (Robin) of Prosperity and Eugene Buchanan of Kinards. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
