He was predeceased by: his mother Lyla S. Dennis; his children, Theresa Jean Dennis and Timothy Kurtz Dennis; and his siblings, Ida "Polly" Rhinehart, Bruce Dennis, Clyde Dennis and Claude Dennis.

He is survived by: his father Leon Z. Dennis; his wife Ella Mae Baker Dennis; his son Thomas Gerald Dennis (Dianne Walden) of Camden; his sister Rebecca Moriska; his grandchildren, Tommy Dennis (Heather) and Amanda Locklear; his great grandchildren, Faith Coffman, Hannah Dennis and Tommy Ray Dennis; his great great grandchildren, Lilliana and Rowen Erskine; and his friend Roger Bowers.
