He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen Griffin and William Doty Cathcart of Kershaw, SC.; his siblings, Joseph Griffin and Betty Britt; and his nephew Bill Britt.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Echols Cathcart; his daughters, Tracy Carpenter (David) of Ripley, WV, Bonnie Green (Andrew) of Roanoke, VA and Jo Ann Davis (Jeffrey) of Elkview, WV; his niece Laura Gluhm (Britt) of Waverly, GA; his cousin Sabritt D. Cathcart (Buddy) of Winnsboro, SC; and his grandchildren, Samuel Carpenter, Allyson Davis, Tyler Green and Kiersten Davis.
