He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Franklin Slayton and Mary Cleveland Slayton. He is survived by: his wife Paula Slayton; his children, Heather Slayton Staton (Jeremy), Amanda Slayton Burke (Jeremy), Portia Barnes Knight (Blake) and Perry "Michael" Slayton, Jr.; his grandchildren, Aubrey, Addie, Jagger, Judson, Racquel, Pepper, Reed, Sawyer, Hartley, Delainey and Graham; and his siblings, Bobby Wayne Slayton, Barbara Slayton Penland and Nancy Slayton Blackmon (David). He is also survived by family members and friends.
