She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Jay Newport and Reta Winchester Newport; and her sisters, Jean, Donna and Ann.
She is survived by: her children, Dondi Posey of Kershaw, S. C., Teresa Kennedy of Grundy, VA, Rita Cooper of Oneida, TN and Cindy Vandyke of Cumberland, VA; and her siblings, Johnny Newport, Edna Russ and Lola Cooke. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
