Grenfell M. Leonard Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Grenfell M. Leonard of Kershaw, South Carolina, born in Beaumont, Texas, who passed away on December 31, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Grenfell had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Grenfell may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Elijah Matthew Leonard and Sarah Elizabeth Preston Leonard; and his brothers, Dwight Leonard and Winston Leonard. He is survived by: his wife Esther Orvis Gray Leonard; his sons, John D. Prosser (Suzie), James D. Prosser (Evelyn) and Joel D. Prosser (Lisa); and his sister Beth L. Allen (Jerry). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Baker Funeral Home (210 E Hilton St, Kershaw, SC 29067). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bethany Baptist Church.
