He was predeceased by: his mother Etta Hammond Neal; his grandfather Bruce; his wife Phyllis Catoe Neal; his parents-in-law, Roy J. Catoe, Sr. and Alice C. Catoe; his siblings, Claudia Williams (Douglas), Edith Lowry, Doris Hancock (Hank) and Marion Neal (Doris); and his granddaughter Heaven.

He is survived by: his father Rev. Roy Neal; his children, Martha Neal of Columbia, S. C., Darrell Neal (Donna) of Columbia, S. C. and Kevin Neal (Kim) of McDonough, Georgia; his grandchildren, Emily Neal, Madison Neal, Caitlyn Neal, Kennedy Neal, Tyler Cooley (Leah) and Austin Cooley; and his brothers, Archie Neal and Rev. Steve Neal (Carol). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
