It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anita Gay Melton of Kershaw, South Carolina, born in Lancaster, South Carolina, who passed away on December 7, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Gay and Nellie Mae Walters Gay; and her brother George Gay. She is survived by: her husband William Monroe "Billy" Melton, Sr.; her stepchildren, Karen Bacon (Bruce) and William Monroe "Will" Melton, Jr. (Ashley); her grandchildren, Morgan Bacon, Madelyn Boland (Kaleb), Blake Melton, Brady Melton and Vixey Anna Melton; and her sister-in-law Rita Clark Gay. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
