He was predeceased by: his parents, John Alvin Jay and Dolly Grace Ouzts Jay; his brother Thomas Earl Jay; and his grandson Jeremy Wesley Jay. He is survived by: his wife Doris Jean Smith Jay; his children, Joseph Alvin Jay (Barbara) of Johnston and Millie Jay Clark (Larry) of Johnson; his grandchildren, Lindsay Jay Collar (Justin) of Johnston and Caroline Carpenter Boone; and his great grandchildren, Brittany Boatwright, Brett Wise, Landon Boatwright, Ava Keller, Caleb Boone, Vivian Keller, Ben Collar, Jack Collar and Samuel Collar.
