We are sad to announce that on August 22, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Doris Jean Smith Jay of Johnston, South Carolina, born in Saluda, South Carolina. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick Eugene Smith and Sudie Mae Rice Smith; her husband Joseph William Jay; her grandson Jeremy Wesley Jay; and her siblings, Virgil Smith and Lula Mae Jester.

She is survived by: her children, Joseph Alvin Jay (Barbara) of Johnston and Millie Jay Clark (Larry) of Johnston; her sisters, Jessie Werts of Saluda, Sara Crawford (Bob) of Saluda and Vinetta Nicholson of Saluda; her grandchildren, Lindsay Jay Collar (Justin) of Johnston and Caroline Carpenter Boone; and her great grandchildren, Brittany Boatwright, Brett Wise, Landon Boatwright, Ava Keller, Caleb Boone, Vivian Keller, Ben Collar, Jack Collar and Samuel Collar.
