He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery Bland Parrish, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Powell Parrish; his brother Dock Lester Parrish; his sister-in-law Peggy C. Parrish; and his niece Stephanie Meadows.
He is survived by: his wife Raye Hyler Parrish; his daughter Sandra Parrish of Atlanta, GA; and his sisters, Sarah Johnson (Curtis) of Ridge Spring, Alice Parrish of Ridge Spring, Gelilah Barksdale (David) of Beaver, WV, Doris Shelley (Perry) of Litchfield Beach and Kaye Pazderski (Steve) of Ward. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces.
