It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Ervine Matthews in Johnsonville, South Carolina, born in Florence, South Carolina, who passed away on June 4, 2023, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edgar Vernon Matthews and Betty Jo Lee King; his significant other Mandy Rogers of Florence; his children, Sydney Cook (Justin) of Pamplico and Cody Rogers of Florence; his grandson Liam Cook of Pamplico; and his siblings, Sheila Matthews of Johnsonville, Russell Coe (Beth) of Scranton and Katie Cooper (Curt) of Pamplico.
