It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Lewis Gaster Sr. (Johnsonville, South Carolina), who passed away on October 9, 2019, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas and Lillian Iona Thomas Gaster; his brother Wyman Brice Gaster, Sr.; his stepchildren, Lance Williams and Carla Miller; and his stepgrandson Justin Williams.
He is survived by: his wife LaRita Gilpin Powell Gaster; his children, Linda Bridges (Keith), John Gaster, Jr. (Rebecca), Sandra Prosser, Thomas Gaster (Paige) and Dianne Gaster; his sister Alice Matthews; his stepsons, Claude Williams and Ricky Powell (Sharon); and his great grandchildren, Pa's, Wyatt and Chandler Griffith. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
